CAPTCHA untuk ASP.NET

saya dan teman kuliah saya dulu sedang mengembangkan library programming, tujuannya adalah untuk mempermudah pengerjaan ketika mendapatkan project-project freelance. saya melontarkan ide untuk menggunakan CAPTCHA di bagian login dari aplikasi. dan teman saya meminta saya untuk menyelesaikan bagian itu. dikarenakan kesibukan di kantor dan hal lainnya, saya masih belum sempat untuk menyelesaikan bagian itu.

Tetapi baru saja saya mencoba googling, dan menemukan ini, library CAPTCHA yang siap untuk diterapkan ke aplikasi ASP.NET. 

saya akan mencoba menerapkan library ini terlebih dahulu dan menambahkan di post ini setelahnya.

Windows 7(Seven) not responding

sejak saya menggunakan notebook baru saya. notebook tersebut langsung saya install dengan OS Windows 7 (Seven) Ultimate 64 bit. OS tersebut merupakan rekomendasi dari merk notebook tersebut (ASUS). 

tetapi yang menjadi ganjalan adalah, dengan spesifikasi yang cukup tinggi, kenapa saya sering mengalami "Not Responding" di aplikasi-aplikasi yang sedang saya gunakan. contoh : browser Mozilla Firefox, Yahoo Messenger, Winamp, dll.

karena saya baru pertama kali menggunakan windows 7, saya mencoba untuk mencari solusi atas permasalahan ini. saya menemukan diskusi ini, secara garis besar mereka mencurigai bahwa Antivirus yang menyebabkan aplikasi seringkali "Not Responding". 

dalam diskusi tersebut juga diinfokan cara untuk memeriksa proses apa saja yang sedang berjalan di komputer. caranya adalah dengan menggunakan Resource Monitor.

Pilih tab CPU, semua proses yang sedang berlangsung terdaftar disana. dan proses yang "Not Responding" akan berwarna merah. kita dapat memeriksa apa penyebab dari proses yang "Not Responding" tersebut dengan cara klik kanan pada proses yang merah, kemudian pilih "Analyze process".  saya sudah mencoba cara ini ketika browser Mozilla Firefox saya mengalami "Not Responding" dan hasil analisanya adalah "'One or more threads of firefox.exe are waiting to finish network I/O". jawaban ini tidak memberikan solusi atas permasalahan ini.

sampai saat tulisan ini dibuat, saya lebih memilih untuk beradaptasi dengan masalah ini, ketimbang mencari solusinya. dikarenakan dari diskusi pada link di atas, mereka sudah mengalaminya dalam jangka waktu yang cukup lama dan juga belum mendapatkan solusi yang efektif.

Wi-fi Hotspot Ad-Hoc Mode dan Access Point Mode

pada tulisan sebelumnya disini, saya menuliskan tips untuk menjadikan notebook / komputer desktop menjadi sebuah wi-fi hotspot(access point).

selain access point, hotspot memiliki mode Ad-Hoc Mode. apa perbedaan keduanya ?

Perbedaan terbesar antara dua mode tersebut adalah bahwa mode Access Point memungkinkan Anda untuk membuat jaringan hotspot dengan menggunakan kartu Wi-Fi yang sama yang Anda gunakan untuk mengakses Internet. Sebaliknya, mode Ad Hoc membutuhkan koneksi internet yang berasal dari perangkat terpisah seperti kartu Ethernet, modem selular, atau kartu Wi-Fi lain di komputer Anda.

gadget-gadget seperti blackberry, android, iPod Touch tidak akan bisa terhubung ke hotspot dengan mode Ad-Hoc. Ad-Hoc hanya bisa di akses oleh sesama notebook / komputer.

cara mudah menjadikan notebook atau komputer menjadi hotspot Access Point

buat teman-teman yang mempunyai notebook, mayoritas notebook keluaran 2008 ke atas memiliki wi-fi adapter sebagai fitur standard. atau para pengguna komputer desktop menambahkan wi-fi external adapter untuk dapat mengakses koneksi wi-fi yang ada.

mengikuti perkembangan jaman, tidak hanya notebook / komputer saja yang dibekali wi-fi. hampir semua gadget turut menanamkan wi-fi ke dalamnya. sebagai contoh : blackberry, hp android, iPod Touch, iPhone, dll.

saat ini saya akan menuliskan tips sederhana untuk mengubah fitur wi-fi yang ada di notebook / komputer kita menjadi hotspot.

hotspot sendiri memiliki 2 mode, yaitu Ad-Hoc Mode dan Access Point. yang akan dibahas di tulisan ini adalah mode yang kedua (Access Point). penjelasan perbedaan dari kedua mode tersebut bisa dibaca di post ini.

definisi dari hotspot sendiri adalah : jalur akses nirkabel yang pada dasarnya menyediakan akses jaringan dan / atau Internet ke perangkat mobile seperti laptop atau smartphone, dan pada umumnya terletak di lokasi publik. contoh sederhananya adalah : jika kita biasanya mengakses wi-fi hotspot di kafe-kafe atau restoran yang menyediakan fasilitas itu, sekarang saatnya kita yang menyediakan layanan hotspot tersebut.

apa kegunaan dari hotspot(access point) ini ? 

• membuat sebuah jaringan lokal nirkabel. bisa sharing internet, atau hanya untuk bermain game LAN.
• share internet ke gadget-gadget. contoh : iPod Touch, Blackberry, dll.

pada dasarnya gadget-gadget tertentu telah memiliki akses internet, sehingga tidak memerlukan bantuan hotspot ini lagi.

tetapi tidak menutup kemungkinan pada suatu saat hotspot ini diperlukan gadget tersebut. 

di Jakarta, provider blackberry mayoritas suka mengalami delay ketika mengirim pesan BBM. jika kamu memiliki koneksi wi-fi yang lebih baik. maka kamu dapat menggunakan wi-fi hotspot ini menggantikan sinyal mobile kamu dalam mengirimkan pesan BBM. 

hal yang sama ketika kamu ingin browsing / download melalui gadget dan provider sedang penuh diakses oleh para pengguna lain, maka kamu dapat menggunakan alternatif wi-fi hotspot ini.

segera saja download aplikasi connectify. pada saat tulisan ini dibuat, versi connectify terakhir adalah 3.3.0.23104. tetapi saya mencoba download Connectify Pro 3.1.0.21402 yang saya dapatkan di blog www.remo-xp.com(credits to the uploader) berikut patchnya.

persyaratan lain untuk menjadikan notebook / komputer kamu menjadi sebuah hotspot(access point) adalah harus menggunakan OS Windows 7 (Seven). kamu dapat melihat penjelasan lengkapnya di FAQ Connectify. dimana singkatnya, keterbatasan ini karena masalah security dan pihak Microsoft tidak berencana untuk mengakomodir penambahan fitur Access Point untuk OS selain Windows 7(Seven).

penggunaan aplikasi connectify ini sangat mudah, cukup kamu install mengikuti pilihan awalnya, kemudian kamu patch (panduan cara patch ada di link download).

buka aplikasi Connectify, isi hotspot name dan password kamu, pilih wireless card (Adapter) kamu, dan terakhir pilih sharing mode kamu.
password akan digunakan untuk gadget lain yang akan mengakses hotspot baru ini.
terakhir, cobalah aktifkan wi-fi di gadget lain dan hubungkan ke wi-fi hotspot ini. jika masih ada yang bingung silahkan drop commentnya, dan akan saya lengkapi tulisan ini.

untuk saya sendiri banyak kegunaan yang didapat dari penggunaan hotspot ini :

• alternatif akses internet untuk blackberry. untuk download aplikasi yang besar atau ingin browsing dengan lebih cepat.
• bisa akses iTunes Store langsung dari iPod Touch.
• bisa menggunakan fitur iMessage yang ada di iPod Touch.
• membuat Wireless LAN untuk bermain game dengan teman-teman lain, baik untuk game yang memerlukan atau tanpa akses internet.

my new notebook ASUS U46SV-WX092D

So at this mid of March 2012, i decided to buy a new notebook. replacing my old Acer.

after having discussions with few of my friend, workmate and GF :D. i decided to buy ASUS.

the specs :

Intel i5 2430 2.4Ghz

4GB DDR3, 750GB

NVIDIA GT540M 2GB DDR3

14"

the default specs is quite good, but i decided to expand the RAM to 8GB. i use the Corsair SO-DIMM DDR3 4GB PC10666 - CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9.

the notebook and the RAM i bought it from my college mate. he give me a great price for both of the item. you guys can check it at enterkomputer.com. 

overall i was satisfied with this notebook performance, and it looks like it reliable (this is what i need). 

the U series line of ASUS product is designed very slim and elegant, with the battery power could work up to 10Hours. because it have a 8cells battery.

the installation of the driver is quite amazed for me. you just have to chooose which driver you want to install, after that the installation will run automatically. if any of the driver installation need to restart your notebook, then it will restart and continue to install the driver all by automatically. so it would be highly recommended by me to turn off your user account password when you installing this driver, so after restarting the notebook you don't have input your user account password :D.

another advantage of the ASUS product is, they have a 2(two) years limited warranty, compared to other product, they just give you 1(one) year warranty.

that's all i have to write about this notebook. later i'll add some more.

ERROR Reliable Command Buffer Overflow ketika bermain Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Salah satu game yang saya suka dan wajib install di notebook saya adalah Call of Duty. dan pada saat tulisan ini dibuat, Modern Warfare 3(MW3) merupakan rilis terakhirnya.

ketika saya memainkan mode game Campaign, permainan saya terhenti di tengah-tengah permainan, aplikasi Call of Duty akan keluar dengan sendirinya ke menu utama dan menampilkan pesan error "reliable command buffer overflow". lebih tepatnya error ini terjadi ketika saya memainkan misi "Goalpost".

awalnya saya berpikir, bahwa ada kesalahan pada instalasi game MW3 saya atau saya mendapatkan bad copy installer. tapi saya coba googling terlebih dahulu dan menemukan link ini, dan menemukan tips yang sangat sederhana untuk menghindari munculnya error tersebut sehingga dapat melanjutkan permainan kembali.

tipsnya adalah sebagai berikut : jangan melalui jalan tengah, tetapi lompat masuk ke dalam bangunan yang terletak di sebelah kanan. di dalamnya akan ada beberapa musuh, singkirkan mereka dan kemudian keluar dari gedung itu melalui pintu satunya lagi. dan kemudian akan auto save checkpoint.

Asus Virtual Camera dan LifeFrame

setelah sebelumnya mencoba menulis post dengan bahasa inggris, sekarang saya mencoba menulis dengan bahasa ibu (Indonesia).

sekarang saya adalah salah satu pengguna notebook ASUS. utk line product u46sv-wx092d.

di cd driver bawaan Asus ini terdapat banyak sekali driver dan aplikasi pendukung. dan diantaranya adalah Asus Virtual Camera dan Asus lifeFrame.

tetapi ketika saya ingin mencoba webcam melalui ASUS Virtual Camera, tidak ada respon dari aplikasi (FYI, saya sudah menggunakan Vista 7 64 bit, windows yg disarankan ASUS). langsung saja saya googling, dan dari beberapa web yang saya dapatkan, saya menemukan web ini (salah satu alasan kenapa saya menulis post ini dengan bahasa Indonesia).

jadi, jika teman-teman ingin mencoba webcam ASUS, bisa dengan menekan tombol fn + v secara bersamaan. dan aplikasi yang muncul nantinya adalah ASUS lifeFrame. 

Ketika saya googling lagi mengenai apa perbedaan ASUS Virtual Camera dan lifeFrame ini saya belum menemukan jawaban yang memuaskan. Mungkin nantinya post ini akan saya update lagi ketika menemukan jawaban yang lebih baik.

Good Bye acer aspire 4530

last day (from the date this post published) i have a COD transaction at a luxury residence complex at the north of Jakarta.

what am i trading ? i'm selling my used notebook. Acer Aspire 4530.

i decide to sale it after use it for almotst three and half year.

why am i sell it ? the main reason is because i'm very disappointed by the quality of the notebook. that notebook is very unstable and tricky to install the driver. i've search for the driver many times since the day i bought it and until last month, but i can't find a correct driver for it's webcam. so i rarely success using the webcam. sometimes when i've just reinstall the OS and install the webcam driver, the webcam will work normally, but after the next month, the webcam start failing to work. but i can't to re-install the OS everytime the webcam failed to work, since the webcam is not the main feature that i need to use.

when i bought this notebook, i expecting it ability to play a good game, based on the spesification here. but everytime i try to play a game (eg. battlefield 2, PES) the notebook is having a lag. several people that i found in the internet, they succeed playing that games, i don't know whether i got a bad copy of product or that's the limitation of the product.

once i also have to claim the warranty to the distributor, but they take almost a month to replace the unit for me. that's another reason why i don't want to claim the warranty for the notebook.

last month when i start to put the advertising on internet for the notebook, the HDD for the notebook start failing to work, and at last i have to buy a new HDD and it cost me around IDR 700K. 

that's like a bad luck for me, but that give me a more confidence to sell it. because i don't want to disappoint my buyer with selling a damaged product.
